AK Caboose

Alaska Railroad caboose at rest under the northern lights

The “AK Caboose” Experience

Caboose #1093, part of an Alaska Railroad “work train,” rests for the night and takes in a beautiful aurora display from Portage Depot (southeast of Anchorage along Turnagain Arm) on February 2, 2021 at 1:25 am.

If this little caboose could talk, I bet it would have a lot of aurora stories to tell. Add this story to the list because on this beautiful night it was being lit up by both moonlight and the northern lights!
