The “Denali Spectacle” Experience

Alaska’s snow-capped Denali, the tallest mountain in North America at 20,310 feet, glows under an incredibly sharp aurora display on September 25, 2023 at 3:40 am.

This shimmering light show was the result of the sun emitting a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) which impacted and energized Earth's magnetic field lines (the rays you see in this photo). The colorful light reflecting in the braided channels of the Chulitna River along with a pinpoint star field complete this awe-mazing spectacle.
