A huge rainbow-shaped aurora band stretches far above the Alaska Range near 2 am on April 8, 2024 as brilliant rays of northern lights rain down upon Denali Mountain, the tallest peak in North America at 20,320' high. To the left of Denali is Mt. Hunter and far left is Mt. Foraker.

The calm, clear & above zero temperature made for an exceptional springtime viewing experience. I got up close & personal with a cute spruce tree family and enjoyed a star-studded cast of auroras dancing across the grand stage.
